Sounds like someone of marginal moral fiber. He ought to have asked Al
*before* (not when he got busted!) about doing this.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised... eBay often brings out the sleazy
side of people...

Tacky!

To all,

Just a postscript to this.

I wrote the seller that I felt what he was doing was wrong - trying to
profit from Al's hard work.

To my surprise he added a comment to all of his items for sale that the
material was from bitsavers.com.

He then wrote me back and said he wasn't trying to make (much) profit
from
this but was trying to make the material available to others who didn't
have
a high-speed internet connection. He also said that he had some old
computer manuals stored away that he planned to scan into pdf and give
to
bitsavers.com. [I'll be interested to see if that will ever happen.]

Anyway, I think that he redeemed himself by adding the credit note to
his
eBay auctions.

Thanks,
DaveB

P.S. For future reference his name is Arnold Kochman
(ajk4@actcom.co.il).
