Help on Repository Queries

How to search

You can constrain your search by setting three kinds of attributes:
Taxonomy Attributes
We've created a taxonomy that spans the repository. Selecting specific terms from the taxonomy will restrict the search to artifacts matching those terms.

User Keywords
You are free to restrict searches using your own keywords. The keywords you supply will be matched against those of the artifacts in the repository.

Artifact Types
You may restrict the search to artifacts of a particular type. For instance if you only want tools, you would select the tool artifact type and deselect any others.

Taxonomy Attributes

The taxonomy is divided into five parts. The parts are selected by clicking one of the buttons as shown below. Or you can select the entire taxonomy by clicking on High Integerity.

Once you have selected a sub-taxonomy, it will be shown as a tree. For instance, here is the safety taxonomy.

To select a term, click on it. The accumulated terms will be shown at the top of your screen. Here are some rules to remember:

User Keywords

To select a user keyword all you have to do is type it into the indicated box and push the Keyword button:

Key 1 Key 2

If you decide you no longer want a particular keyword, simply uncheck it.

Artifact Types

To select an artifact type just check the appropriate box. Uncheck to deselect. Select All to select all artifact types. The artifact types available are:

Searching

Once you have selected terms you are ready to search. Clicking the
button will initiate the search. Here are a few more rules to keep in mind: The result of a search is a list of matching artifacts. The artifacts are displayed in the following form.
Artifact Title

Clicking on the Artifact Title will take you to a short abstract about the artifact. Clicking on one of the buttons will take you to an artifact.

Clicking on will allow you to revise your selection criteria to narrow the search.
